Christmas Otter

Normally, otters are somewhat camera-shy, disappearing as soon as they see a lens. But this one took a guarded interest in two of us kayaking on Christmas Day 2012 on [Loch Carron][3] in north-west Scotland. After we'd drifted to a stop, this otter observed us for about ten minutes, actually passing between our boats as it circled me.
